I recently decided to watch "Good Will Hunting" for my second movie review - and let me tell you - I was not disappointed. the movie is about a kid who's unplaced smartness puts him in many hard situations. In the beginning of the movie, he was shown as not having a care for anyone and just going through life doing what he wanted to do. He was going to bars, getting in fights - but there was more to him. Being a janitor at MIT, he found a math problem on a chalkboard outside an extremely advanced math class. While polishing the floors at night, he solved the problem on the chalkboard. The next day, the teacher was astonished that the hard problem had been solved! He went searching for the person who turned out to be the boy, and they unwillingly teamed up. Throughout the movie, the kid learns more about himself and the world he’s in. And, he finds himself needing to make a decision - should he keep his safe life, or go outside his comfort zone and see how he can change the world?

I really enjoyed this movie. It was long, but never boring. I particularly liked a few different aspects on how they made the movie. First of all, the actors were great. They all seemed to fit what parts they were, and they made this story really come to life. Ben affleck, Matt Damon, and Robin Williams contributed to the success of this movie. Another thing I liked was how they designed some scenes to be extra dramatic. For instance, I remember two specific times where they zoomed in on one character’s faces, had very intense lighting on their face, and delivered a very long monologue. I felt this was effective because it invoked a lot of emotion on the audience’s point of view.

I would recommend this movie to people who want to reflect on their life and choices they’ve made. I say that because this movie - for me at least - motivated me to try to get all that I can out of life. Waking up a little earlier to work out, choosing the apple of snacks, taking every advantage you can; those little things can make a difference. And, this movie has changed me to look at life in a new perspective. This man was able to create so many different opportunities for himself even though his life was crap (his super-smartness aside) and I want to try to create that for myself.
